"You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heat is restless until it rests in You." - St. Augustine
"The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in God will [we] find the truth and happiness [we] never [stop] searching for" CCC 27
While many are welcomed in the church as infants, others come to know God and desire to join or come into full communion with His Holy Catholic Church later in life. For such persons, the church has a process of initiation called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). This process involves attending weekly classes to prepare for the reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass and undergoing the Rite of Election and spiritual purification during Lent. These classes are offered to anyone who feels called to the Catholic faith - those who have never been baptized as Christians, those who have been baptized in another Christian faith who are now interested in the Catholic church, those who have been baptized in the Catholic church but have not received the sacraments of the Eucharist and Confirmation - everyone is welcome!
RCIA classes will begin on August 22 from 6 to 8 pm at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church.
Have questions? Want to get a feel for what classes will be like? Want to hear how RCIA has changed two converts' lives? Then come to our informational session on August 8, 2023, at 6:30 and continue weekly at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church.
